ITINERARY

Day 1

Hamlin Bay to Hamlin Bay 314km (C D R)
After meeting for breakfast at Hamlin Bay and safety briefing we wind our way to the Western Most Point of Australia at Steep Point then back to our campsite at Hamlin Bay for our Welcome Dinner.


Day 2

Hamlin Bay to Big Bell 476km (B)
We continue further west into Western Australias rich gold mining belt and finish the day at Gunbarrel Laager where a hot shower and a lovely country home cooked dinner awaits us.


Day 3

Big Bell to Gunbarrel Laager 420km (C M R)
As we travel further east we leave the goldfields behind and head into cattle country.


Day 4

Gunbarrel Laager to Well 3 142km (B)
This our first day on the Canning Stock Route. We visit wells 1, 2 and 3. The track is quite good with small patches of sand and some rocky stretches.


Day 5

Well 3 to Well 6 125km (B)
We continue on to Pierre Springs (Well 6) for our overnight camp under the tall Red Gums.Today the track gets a lot rougher with long rocky stretches and deep sand in sections. We see our first sand dunes and there are usually camels about.


Day 6

Well 6 to Carnegie Station 233km (C D R)
The driving today is spectacular, with long open stretches and some challenging sand sections. We visit wells 7, 8 and 9 then leaving the CSR behind we drive through WA's cattle country and stay on a working Cattle Station. The cook will have a hearty dinner lined up for us.

Carnegie Station to Geraldton Bore 204km (B)
Our first day on the Gunbarrel Highway takes us deep into the Gibson Desert.
